My tall project was glazed with a mixture of turquoise and white. I tried to water down the white in order to make a foggy look around the turquoise. While glazing my tall project I remembered how collecting a lot of glaze at the bottom of the project will possibly end in cracks. Also, I reinforced knowing which colors go well together, and which ones do not.
Glazing my lidded project was interesting, as I wanted to do something more than just color it one solid color. I decided to be risky and dip the vase into the scrap black. Then, rather than doing the lid scrap black, too, I dipped it into a scrap blue. Glazing reinforces the skills one must have in order to make their project "pretty' and stand out from the rest.
Today I threw on the wheel, I made one project. Instead of keeping the project entirely centered, I purposely uncentered it to make a unique looking project. This reinforced my creativity skill.
i glazed these projects with blue glaze, and then layered lighter blue glazes on the inside. I hope it will get a swirl effect, and he glazes will appear colorful. I reinforced the understanding of shape and color and thought about how a darker color might make the project look larger, and how I mixed both dark and light colors in these bowls.
glazing my bowl today, trying to get a swirl effect on the inside for circular shapes on the inside. I used white glaze, and will update how I did the swirls soon.
my two bowls came out of the kiln today, ready to be glazed. As I was glazing I reminded myself of how when you glaze you cannot put any on the bottom of the project. I reinforced my skills on the use of colors and shape when glazing my projects.
