I glazed my double wall with burnt orange glaze...This came out of the kiln and one of the sun rays was broken :( However, I also reminded myself to glaze everywhere evenly on you prroject so the glaze comes out perfect.
ive been throwing every day on the wheel, trying to make my set of three. However, I have only managed to make a mug shaped project. I will continue to throw today and tomorrow to finish my projects.
this is my double wall! I made it by making a pinch pot on the wheel and combined the wall of the outside with the wall of the inside. I want to add a stand to it to make it a flask type project.
these two projects came out of the bisque kiln today. One is a plate for my plate grade, and he other i will use to experiment with glazes! I put white glaze on the tall project and am going to paint flowers on my other plate to match my smaller plate. When projects come out of the bisque kiln you want to glaze and get ready to finish the project or you will forget about them!
this is another project where I am using lines to create movement in the project. I indented lines in the bowl when the bowl was still clay, and after it went into the bisque I put black stain into the lines. This reminded me about movement in the project and how to create it with line.
ive been working on projects where I use lines and designs on the project to create images. For this vase I made planets all around the vase and put a rocket in the middle. During this project I remembered how to use stain and use it efficiently. After I am going to put clear glaze on it to show off the colors of the planets.
the next day to the frankenpots we combined the first two projects and started making the third. I have never made a frank pot before so it was peculiar learning how to, as it was much easier than I thought it was going to be. You score both sides the the project and add slip to the projects, and from there you just set the middle project on top and combine. This reinforced my skills with using slip and scoring.
Today we started our frankenpots! We made the base of the project today on the wheel, of which I did.(first picture below) Then my partner made the middle to the project, which is shown on the second picture. Tomorrow we will make our third and final part of the Frankenpot and then combine them all together! This reinforced my skills in using the measuring tool in order to make the middle project able to fit into the base.
I tried to make a wheel altered project today, and tried to make a heart shape in the project. By creating negative space, the shape of the project is changed. However, I want to keep creating more wheel altered projects to create a seriously altered project that has specific movements and shape.
On the wheel today I created a small bowl just to add to my collection. I reinforced my shaping skills when throwing, in order to make bowl shapes for things such as cereal, salsa, and chip bowls. This bowl may be small, but starting small can aid one to making larger things.
